Resonate’s AI-driven voter insights combined with best-in-class survey research and monitoring both online and offline behaviors reveals a dynamic, nuanced picture of the American electorate. Resonate’s insights go beyond an analysis of the static voter file combined with third-party data. Unlike traditional polling, the Resonate platform not only measures what people say, it measures what they do and why they do it.
The Resonate Platform anonymously analyzes 10 billion daily online events on more than 550 million devices across 2 trillion words on 35,000 topics. AI shows us in real-time which candidates saw the biggest lift or decline in viewings of favorable content about them based on online behavior in the five days prior to, and five days following, the debate. This is what we refer to as the Resonate Candidate Index (RCI). AI revealed a clear picture of where the polls are headed and who the American electorate really viewed as the winners and losers of the fifth Democratic debate in Atlanta, Georgia.
Who moved the needle during the fifth democratic debates?
Andrew Yang saw the biggest increase in post-debate ranking, moving from sixth to third place. He saw a 472% increase in the days following the debate. Joe Biden moved from the second spot to the first as his positive content interaction barely budged. Pete Buttigieg and Elizabeth Warren both remained in the top four after the debate, despite their slight shift in ranking.
In addition to Andrew Yang, other big winners from the debate included Tulsi Gabbard who saw a huge increase in engagement with 751%. Bernie Sanders also saw a 210% lift in engagement and Amy Klobuchar moved from 10th to 8th place.
Kamala Harris had dropped from fourth to seventh place after the debate, further justifying her reasoning for dropping out of the presidential race on December 3rd.
